BRENTWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 26, 2023

There were 15 attendees (not including speakers); including 7 Board members - Mert Seaton, Brent Rinker, Jane Augustine, Lisa Meeks, Amy Hunsaker-Williams, Chris Schulze, & Jeremy Ennis.

Motion to approve corected May minutes. Seconded; & unanimously approved.
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Seconded; & unanimously approved

UPDATES

Kirkwood Park playground is now open.

Decision to not be in the 4th of July parade – no objections.

Update on new signs & banner – should have them this week.

Update on website – new hire contacting Cindy to update it.

OLD BUSINESS

Motion to reschedule social event to August 1. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

Motion to table decisions about Lantern Walk on October 7 to July meeting. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

Motion to have Brentwood Day clean up on Saturday September 30. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

Street sign locations – City gave 9; & we choose the last 3. Motion to have Link & Sunshine, Seminole & Luster & Barataria & Luster as the locations. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion to attend our event in Kirkwood Park, rather than participate National Night Out. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

Motion to have the Neighborhood Clean Up on Oct 5 - with the 10th or 12th as a backup; at Unity Church - with Brentwood Christian Church as a backup. Seconded; & unanimously approved.

SPEAKERS

Fire Dept. Representative spoke about how to legally have a recreational fire in your yard. Reviewed what the various Fire Dept. calls in our area have been.
Asked if they are short staffed, like the Police are. The Fire Dept is about 15 short, compared to the Police being 100 short.
Asked if City employed. Yes.
Talked about the changes to the various Fire Stations. Asked why station out past Jack Henry. Station built in anticipation of an annex that did not happen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Escooters were expanded closer to our neighborhood; but not in it yet.

Next meeting on July 31.
