BRENTWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 29, 2024

There were 14 attendees (not including speakers); including 6 Board members - Mert Seaton, Brent Rinker, Jane Augustine, Amy Hunsaker-Williams, Chris Schulze, & Jeremy Ennis.

SPEAKER

Captain Scott Haney of Station 7 Fire Dept
Summary of the calls in our neighborhood
Smoke alarms available for free, including ones for hearing impaired
Grilling safety tips. Even wired smoke alarms need replacing every 10 years. Call for a free check up. Smoke detectors should be near sleeping areas. Carbon monoxide detectors need to be lower & by the furnace.
With gas flames, blue means it's burning correctly. Orange is questionable.

PAR Officer Eubanks
Not able to attend, due to working the fair. Asked to remind everyone that Route 66 Festival is Aug 9 & National Night Out is Aug 6

Introductions
Motion to approve June minutes. Seconded; & unanimously approved.
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Seconded; & unanimously approved

UPDATES
Neat Neighborhood Contest (put on by the Hatch Foundation) - we had a clean up of Glenstone & restored the Brentwood signs. Would like other clean up options before the end of the competition on Sept 1. Playground, gutters & CVS area clean ups suggested.

Someone put a new sign up at Edgewood & Greenwood

Brentwood South sign was paid for by the neighbors in that area.

Update on progress with the new website

National Night Out is August 6 at Meador Park from 5PM-7PM. We will have a table there that people can help out with.

NEW BUSINESS

Neighborhood Clean Up - We will be partnered with another neighborhood. Will be on a Saturday. Suggested dates we submitted are Sept 21st, Oct 12 & 26th; but told only dates left are Sept 28th, Oct 26th & November 9th. Sent a reply on how that happened; & what dates the other neighborhood picked. Motion to just let Brit handle the decision. Seconded; & unanimously approved

Good Neighbor Week starts September 28th, monthly meeting Pizza Party on September 30th & Lantern Walk on October

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dues to be renewed by October 1st.
Board elections are coming up in September.
Candidates will come to speak in the future meetings.

Next meeting on August 26.
