BRENTWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING
(Special Meeting)
JANUARY 22, 2023

All 7 Board Memebers (Mert Seaton, Brent Rinker, Jane Augstine, Lisa Meeks, Amy Hunsaker-Williams, Chris Schulze, Jeremy Ennis) attended.

Mert opened the meeting by moving to postpone the Neighborhood Works grant application to next year. Brent seconded it; & it was unaniomously approved.

Mert gave a background on the logo situation that FB comments were upset about. We set up guidelines for a contest to make a logo. There were issues that Cindy was concerned about the winning logo that the designer did not fix. We had the members attending meetings vote on a new logo. Designer says he did fix it with Cindy. People will be attending the meeting to talk about this. Suggests we do not push people away or won't grow membership. Lisa brings up that we had another logo already voted on before that designer's logo; & the problem is still seen on the designs he claimed he sent her. Brent says the design is not representative of what is here; but agrees we need to move on. Mert says he does not care what the logo looks like. He feels there will be bad vibes, & that will hinder the membership growth; & asks if it should be on the agenda. Jane says the people who are complaining were not members when the current logo was voted on. Amy says that it should be made clear that this is the last vote on a logo. Lisa & Jeremy agree; & Jeremy says there should be an announcement. Lisa moves that we put the sign issue on the agenda, under the condition this will be the last time it will be discussed & voted on. Amy seconded; & it was unanimously approved.

A City Council candidate asked to speak at our meetings. Mert says all should be invited. SPS, the Fire Dept & Kickball is scheduled for the February meeting; so he suggests we invite the Candidates for March; & the Training session for April. There was discussion of how to announce the upcoming meeting agendas; & what the 2nd FB page was about. Chris moved that we invite all the Candidates to speak at the March meeting. Mert seconded it; & it was unanimously approved.

Lisa says she posted her comments on that 2nd FB account.

Mert moved that we move the Training session to April. Chris seconded; & it was unanimously approved.

Amy says the admins on the 2nd page are Jessica Spencer, Richard Crabtree & Cindy Cook. Mert says he will reach out to Cindy about it.

Mert asks which is better - to post the minutes on FB; or a link to the website to read the minutes. Amy says people are lazy. Lisa likes the link going to the website so they can see the dates & the minutes. Mert says how about both? Chris like both. Jeremy says a condensed version on FB & full at website. Brent says website needs updating. Mert says the ones missing are not approved yet. Mert moves we post minutes & link to website on FB page. Amy seconded; & it was approved unanimously.

Mert talks about putting out signs Tuesday.
