There were 16 attendees (not including speakers); including 6 Board members - Brent Rinker, Chris Schulze, Amy Hunsaker-Williams, Lisa Meeks, Jane Augustine, & Michael Gugliotta.
SPEAKERS
Matt Schafer - Assistant Director Economic Vitality
Explained the 3% Hotel/Motel Tax for the new Convention Center
Will also need a 1,000 Hotel Room increase in the area
Will need to use other tax money in addition to this tax to pay for it, & that includes the $30 Million matching grant money
Will take 1.5 - 2 years to open
Motion to approve September minutes. Seconded; & unanimously approved.
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Seconded; & unanimously approved
UPDATES
Lantern Walk a success. About 150 people attended
Neighborhood Watch Training on 10/28 at 5:30PM - 9PM at SPD on Battlefield
Discussed what events to include in the Springfield Neighborhood News
OLD BUSINESS
Bass Pro Marathon - November 2nd at 7:20AM. Theme is Wacky Wavers. Discussed what things were needed, & what things were already purchased. Budget of $150
NEW BUSINESS
November & December meetings are combined into 1 potluck event on Monday 12/8 at 6PM at the Brentwood Library. Motion to approve $100 for expenses. Seconded; & unanimously approved.
Christmas Parade on Saturday 12/13 at 2PM. Motion to approve $125 for expenses. . Seconded; & unanimously approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Potential fund raising for gathering walnuts.Mark & Jeanine will pay $13/100 lbs.
Clay Tree Service would like to purchase an ad in our email.
Debit card is expiring, need a new one.
